40 years and counting!

Have I mentioned that we’re turning 40?

*Yeah, only about 40 times!

I know, we don’t look a day over 80 (and BTW that will never be a compliment in any other context!)

Even our new stores in Brooklyn and Chelsea look like they’ve been there for decades. And that’s exactly my point. We’re not all shiny and new, because we’re too busy staying faithfully tethered to our history and our roots.

But these days, with new faces and new places, we’ve been busy growing into the long shadow that we’ve managed to cast over the last 40 years -recently partnering with some absolutely amazing  people who are just as passionate about doing dishes as we’ve been.

They’re here to make sure the next 40 years are as fabulously odd as the first.

And trust me, they’re odd enough to do it 🤭!

I personally find the difficult one in the group to be Daniel - well difficult to keep up with! Daniel is our CEO. This guy moves at lightning speed! Even Tara, who moves pretty fast herself, tries to keep up with him!

I mean he literally parts seas to make things happen!

Turns out Moses had nothing on Daniel!

Collaborate with Van Leeuwen ice cream? Bam! Done!

Collaborate with Hamilton the musical? Boom! Done!

Brace yourselves for other fun projects in the near future, because that’s exactly what we’re doing…bracing ourselves 😵💫 !

There are a lot of other people “in store” as well. There’s Tara who’s the closest I’ll ever get to being next to a real live CowGirl! Tara is another one who gets things done - overseeing pretty much everything! If it needs overseeing, Tara is behind it. If it needs a bit of confusion, that’s where you’ll find me 🤷🏻♀️ - but unlike SOMMEE PEOPPLE 🤔  Tara likes to go at a MANAGEABLE pace (written in hopes that Daniel comes up for air to read this) 😂).

That’s Tara as a CowGirl because she looked totally awkward in the Moses outfit although I am throwing her a Bat Mitzvah and  just to make her feel comfortable we’ll be serving pigs in a blanket - wrapped in bacon. 🥓

Thank you for sticking with us for the last 40 years. We promise to continue doing dishes the old-fashioned way…embarrassing ourselves, finding the ridiculousness, seeing the beauty, never compromising on quality, hiring not necessarily normal people, and staying true to our roots.
